Panamerican Games

In this small island (PuertoRico) sports are a big deal. Even thou we dont win as many medals as the other bigger countries, we are always proud when we do. The Panamerican games are always tough, but we manage to win 20 medals. Best results where in gymastics and boxing, where we capture gold medals (In boxing the young prospect who beat the olympic gold medalist champion in the centroamerican games, beat the fighter of Dominican Republic for the gold).
We have always been pretty good in sports like boxing, baseball and basketball. In Basketball we did pretty good also, not many people expect a lot from that team and we manage to beat Argentina wich are always tough, but came out short against Brazil for the gold.
My sister was in Brazil for the games, to be with her boyfriend who was competting, she brought me a nice t-shirt from there so thats cool. My brother in law was not very lucky and starterd pretty badly, he got better in the next rounds but couldnt take a medal, he did manage to beat the number one seed in his sport (Fencing) thou. My family has always been very eager about sports, we all have been practicing sports since a very young age, but my sister was the only one that really took it in a more professional way. She is now retired, but had a really good carreer, We went to Athens in the past olympics to see her compete in swimming.

Overall we won more medals than the las Panamerican games, so thats an improvement.
