Puerto Rico for the Gold (Basketball)

Today is the final game of the 2009 FIBA Americas Championship in basketball, and we are playing for the Gold Medal. The first 4 teams would qualify for the 2010 World championship in Turkey next year. USA would get an instant pass cause they won the olympics, so no DreamTeam playing.

Our team started great, undefeated and with great momentum, but had a letdown 3 nights ago. We where playing Argentina which of course is a strong team, and PR where losing for like 10 points since the 2nd quarter. In the last couple of minutes the team started the pressure and got close and with 6 seconds to go we hit a 3 pointer to tied the game and the place was exploding.
Watch it as it happened:

One last possession for the Gauchos and then overtime. Not so fast, once they put the ball in the ground and started to dribble, one of the officials whistle a personal foul (AHH?? he shouldn't have done that in such a close game) so they hit the first freethrow and tried to miss the second to let the last 3 seconds go by, but he made it. We had our last chance to make a play, and got the 3 pointer shot, but hit the back of the rim and we lost our perfect record.

The next day we played Brazil, which is another tough team, and we need it the win to qualify if we won by +6 points we would guarantee the first place for the World championships. The PR team was winning by double digits most of the game, but at the last minute Brazil had a great run and our team played badly so we ended up winning by 4 points and in 3rd place for next year in Turkey. So we qualify and thats great but the tournament isn't over, The last 4 teams would play in the semifinals and we played again vs our Gauchos nemesis.

Argentina started strong and finished winning the halftime 41-32. The second half was another story and by the end of the 3rd we where losing for only 2 points. Last quarter was up and down, but at the end Carlos Arroyo played great (lead the team w 19 points) and we won our rematch. So tonight we play Brazil once again for the Gold and we expect a great game.
